Andrew Alter

Andy lived virtually his entire life in Rockland County, graduating from Clarkstown South High School. He later received a B.A. Degree from Baruch College. He had been employed at the Development Corporation for Israel (Israel Bonds) for 29 years and currently served as Executive Director for Rockland County, upstate New York and Bergen County.

Andy is survived by his beloved children Louisa of Berkeley, California and Alexander of Nanuet, NY, and his ex-wife Anne of Valley Cottage, NY. He was predeceased by his parents Louis and Doris Alter formerly of Bardonia, NY. He also is survived by many cherished friends and relatives.

Funeral services will take place today, Wednesday February 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the New City Jewish Center, 47 Old Schoolhouse Road, in New City, NY. Interment to follow at Sharon Gardens Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. A period of mourning will be observed following interment. Contact New City Jewish Center for additional information. Memorial contributions in Andy’s memory may be made to the Brenner-Alter Scholarship Fund at the New City Jewish Center.
