Anne Miller of Pearl River, NY (formerly of New City, NY) beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend passed away on November 24, 2012 at The Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, NY. She suffered from multiple myeloma, a plasma cell cancer. She died surrounded by her family and friends who love her and will miss her dearly. Funeral services were held on November 27, 2012 at Temple Beth Sholom in New City and were followed by burial services at the New Montefiore Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. Shiva will be held in Pearl River, NY and Wyckoff, NJ through Thursday November 29, 2012.
Anne Steinhauer was born in the Bronx, NY on March 1, 1947. She graduated from Lehmann College and obtained a Master degree in education from New York University. She taught Spanish and ESL in the Foreign Language Department at Adlai Stevenson High School in the Bronx. She spent the last ten years retired with her beloved husband David, travelling to foreign countries and throughout the United States. Her favorite foreign travel destination was Barcelona, Spain. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, baseball (especially the NY Yankees), playing mah jongg, and spending time with her friends and family, children, and grandchildren.
Anne is survived by her husband David Miller; her daughter Lauren Hernandez, son-in -law Mark Hernandez and grandchildren Sienna and Alexander of Wyckoff, NJ; daughter Rachel Miller of Brooklyn, NY; and brother Bennett Steinhauer of Ossining, NY.
