Dearest Milt, Beth and Amanda,
So shocked to hear about my friend.... many many years ago Arlene and I became fast friends... we met at a play group when the kids were little... I liked her right away. Always sweet, always kind. The kids would play together... we would chat about so many things. I would love when Arlene would shop for an outfit, buy several and decide when she got home.. I used to get such a kick out of that. Then we started going out as couples... what a wonderful marriage Milt and Arlene had... like Ron and I, we dedicated ourselves to raising our kids and working... raising our families in beautiful Pomona...Arlene always would share her teaching experiences. She loved what she did... because we both worked full time there wasn’t a lot of day time to spend together but we talked all the time. When we moved to Westchester we kept in touch. Arlene was always interested to know how our kids were what they were doing and such a support when our son died. We moved to Florida but we talked over the phone... not often enough but always like it was yesterday. I will miss my friend. I will miss our talks. Arlene was special, kind, thoughtful. A true friend... ron and I have all of you in our hearts....always.... you were blessed with her and she was blessed to have you. I was blessed to call Arlene my friend...Love always.... Rose... and Ron...see you soon.

I wish to send my deepest condolences to the Orenstein family upon the passing of Arlene. My late husband Ira and I met Arlene and Milt almost 44 years ago when buying our home which was directly across the street from them.  There are too many memories of the wonderful times we and all of our children had over the course of this time.  Arlene was a confidante offering sound advice to me, discussing our respective paintings, emailing pictures back and forth, knitting, having dinners out, laughing and enjoying each other's company and much more. I think of Arlene, Milt, Amanda and Beth as our extended family. After Ira's death I remarried Larry Silverman. He had the opportunity to meet and grow to care very much about Arlene and Milt.  Unfortunately, our time was cut way too short. I will miss Arlene more than words can express.  Saying that she was one of my closest, dearest  friends is simply not adequate. I will miss and continue to love Arlene for the rest of my life.  Arlene, Rest in Peace .
