Deanna was born a US citizen in Israel. She arrived in New York as a young child with her parents Jack and Nina Wugman. She spent her youth in New York City finishing her studies at NYU.
Deanna leaves behind her devoted husband Arie Simon and their immediate family. Her son Joshua Simon , daugher-in-law Debra, grandchildren Amanda, Alexander and Justin. As well as her daughter Nina Simon Kleinberg, son-in-law Ronald, grandchildren Maya and Josie.
Deanna worked at various levels of function at a few companies in the New York area- Lecroy Corp, Butler Group, CNBC, NBC corporate. She spent the last 10 years working for a local attorney.
Her motto was ‘volunteer and give back to society’. Over the years she was involved in many community based service groups— Woman's American ORT, Rotary Club (president of 2 clubs), S.H.A.R.E (Aid for children in Africa), Women’s club at Congregation Shaarey Israel, and up until the time of her illness she was President of the Rockland Association for the Blind.
