Donald Martin Mondschein

Donald Mondschein, 79, former resident of New City died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 surrounded by his beloved family. Mr. Mondschein was born on July 31, 1934 in Brooklyn NY to Herman and Sally Mondschein. He graduated from AB Davis High School in 1952 and went on to serve his country in the US Army in the late 50's and early 60's. After his honorable discharge, he graduated from Pace University with an accounting degree. He later married Helen Albert on December 9, 1965 in White Plains, NY. Don worked in Rockland County for most of his professional career as a certified public accountant. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, and spent countless hours volunteering for various charities. Don was the President of the Westchester/Rockland branch of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners. He was past membership Vice-President and Treasurer of New City Jewish Center. Don is survived by his beloved wife Helen. He is the loving father of Harold and his wife Carol of Greenwich, CT, and Seth and his wife Michelle of Port Washington, NY, adored grandfather of Jake, Lauren, Valerie, Sean and Ryan and cherished brother of Barbara Canady.Funeral services will be held Friday March 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Interment will follow at Sharon Gardens Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
