Glenda Saunders of Suffern, New York, passed away on October 17th, 2020. Glenda worked for many years as a teacher for both the New York City Public School System and Ashar Yeshiva in Monsey NY. She was a dedicated and loving teacher who spread joy and knowledge to the many elementary students she taught over the years. Glenda loved spending time with friends, playing canasta and mah-jongg at the JCC Y, getting manicures, and shopping at Chicos. Her husband always called her the “best dressed woman in Rockland County”. She also enjoyed going out to dinner and to the theater. Glenda was a loving and compassionate woman who was proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved hearing about their achievements and activities. Everyone who knew her, loved her. Glenda was full of life and treasured her time with her beloved husband, Stanley of the last 58 years. Glenda was a loving mother to Valerie Schreibman of Boynton Beach, Florida and Elizabeth Mitchell of Bordentown, NJ. She is also survived by her son-in-laws, Adam Schreibman and Bryan Mitchell, along with her grandchildren, Rachel and Noah Schreibman, Brandon and Gavin Rosenblatt, and Isabella Mitchell.
Graveside services and interment will be held Tuesday October 20th, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery in Saddle Brook NJ. If you are more comfortable joining us via Zoom, please provide your email address to [email protected]. Immediately following the service, friends and family are invited to the Saunders’ residence. Shiva will continue from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21st and Thursday, October 22nd. Please let us know if you are planning to visit the family after the service and for Shiva, so that we can prepare for our guests. When entering the house, please wear a facial covering. Masks will be available.
