Irv J. Grabstein, age 61, passed away suddenly on December 5, 2017. He was born in Spring Valley and graduated from Ramapo High School. He then attended Emerson College graduating in 1978 with a degree in Mass Communications. He was never without his camera, becoming a professional photographer at the age of 15, working for Town of Ramapo. Irv moved to Jacksonville FL in 1984, and moved back to the North East in 2009 when he married Dana Z. Bogatz. He is survived by his sister Amy Grabstein Johnson, an amazing group of friends, his wife Dana, and their ‘children’ yellow lab Alex, cockatiel Mr. Minor, and horse Ranger. Irv was a kind and gentle man, who called no attention to himself, but made it possible for everyone in his view finder to shine. Graveside services will be held TODAY Thursday December 7, 2017, :30 p.m. at Workman’s Circle Cemetery, New Hempstead, New York.
