Irving Steer passed away peacefully this week at age 100. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He ran track in the Olympic trials while at University of Minnesota. He graduated from Salem College and later from the Army’s Command and General Staff College. During World War II, he was a Port Company Commander in Skagway, Alaska. For many years he owned Rockland Carpet Mart in Spring Valley, New York. He was past Master of a Masonic Lodge in Manhattan. His wives Sheila and Evelyn predeceased him. He is survived by Richard and Carole, Deborah and James, Laurie, Scott and Joan, Stephanie and Tim, Adam and Brittany, Camille, Anthony and Jermicia, Roddy Jr. Cameo, Michael, Virginia, Jennifer, Wes and his great grandchildren. Memorial Donations in Mr. Steer's memory may be made to the Veteran's Organization of one's choice.
