Jean Zemlowitz Kapernick passed away Tuesday October 9, 2012. She was 82 years old. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Sidney Kapernick, and Jean was a resident of Rockland County for 34 years. Jean was born to Jacob and Bertha Zemlowitz on June 5, 1930. Jean was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, daughter and friend. She is survived by her adored and adoring daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, New York on October 10, 2012. Shiva was observed at the Kapernick residence and was continued at her daughter and son-in-law's residence in California. In lieu of flowers or donations her family wishes that all who knew Jean gather together with their own loved ones and play a game of cards, have a joyful meal with a Diet Coke (don't skip dessert) and celebrate life, love and family.
