She married the love of her life, Bennet, August 26, 1956. A lifelong educator, Marcia started her career in Yonkers, NY, and dedicated many years of service to the South Orangetown Central School District as a substitute teacher and tutor. She was also very active in the P.T.A., having served as President, and worked diligently to unionize the substitute teachers, where she was instrumental in negotiating their first contract.
Always devoted to her family, Marcia made countless sacrifices for the welfare of her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved playing mah jongg with friends, bowling, and vacationing, especially in Florida. Bennet and Marcia’s trip to Israel with Orangetown Jewish Center was transformative. After Bennet passed away, Marcia was fortunate to receive impeccable care at Brightview Senior Living Lake Tappan, where she benefitted immeasurably from the devoted, caring staff. The family would also like to thank the incredibly compassionate team at Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, NY, for providing comfort in Marcia’s final days.
