Marlene Gale Reifel, May 20,19445 - January 4, 2025, daughter of Adele and Anthony Chiarini, passed peacefully in her sleep. Marlene and her husband, Saul Reifel, are finally together again. Her loving family: children - Barbra (Michael J.), Sharon, Toni (deceased), and Steven (Renee D.); her grandchildren - Michael, Gerald (Maria P.), Raymond, and Gabrielle; her brother Philip and 3 nieces Toni, Megan (Adam,) and Lauren (Steve and Thea,); her sister Marilyn, widow of Herb Cohen, and nephew Brett (Michele,) her nephew Ross (Nick) and nieces Diana (Joey, Justin, and Jaiden,) and Jordyn (Collin and Harper.)
In 1964, Marlene and Saul were married and their path was set. Through thick and thin, their bond remained as strong as the day they said "I do." Their commitment to raise a family and create a home together was evident to everyone that met them. From annual vacations at the Jersey Shore to a road trip to Florida to 6 hour flights with 4 children to California, she showed us all the meaning of family and that she was the mom. She perfected the Mom Look. She taught us how to live and love, to stand up for ourselves, and to forgive.
Marlene was loved by her family and friends. She would do anything or give anything to those she loved even when it seemed impossible or she did without... she found a way. Her hobbies were watching TV with Mimi, going to a casino, and was an avid reader, the Harlequin Romance Queen!!
After battling lung cancer for 18 years and being a warrior, her body weakened and she had to say goodbye to us. Marlene and her generous heart will be very missed every day and Saul gets to dance forever with his 'Lady in Red' (song by by Chris de Burgh.) Their wedding song, 'So in Love' (by the Tymes) was perfect.
