Nettie Price

Nettie Price, 90 a long-time resident of Chestnut Ridge, passed away on February 28, 2022. Born in the Bronx on April 17, 2022, she was the youngest of 8 children of Uda and Bella Liss. Nettie graduated from the High School of Music and Art, and received degrees from Queens College and Teachers College at Columbia University.

In 1952, she married Jules Price and over 66 years they raised a large family and travelled the world together. Nettie had a career in education for the blind, and a second career in real estate.

A Certified EMT Instructor, she helped found the William P. Faist Ambulance Corps in Chestnut Ridge and later served as President of the Corps. She also served two terms as President of the Rockland County Board of Realtors.

Nettie enjoyed many hobbies, including painting and woodworking. She built dollhouses for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jules died in 2018. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Dena) of Morganville, NJ and Stephen (Ellen) of Potomac, MD, her grandchildren Scott (Mercedes), Sharon (Matthew), Michelle, Taryn (Colin), Ian and Marc, and her great-grandchildren Gabriella, Grayson, Charlotte and Jensen.

Graveside services will be held Thursday March 3, 2022 1:00 PM at Gates of Zion Cemetery, 670 Saddle River Road Airmont, NY 10952.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Price’s memory should be made to the William P. Faist Ambulance Corps. 3 Red Schoolhouse Road, Chestnut Ridge, NY 10977.
