Ralph was born in Bamberg, Germany. Ralph survived the Holocaust, and he was a highly valued speaker about his experiences. He taught for 38 years, mostly at Spring Valley Senior High School, and he instilled his passion for learning in his students and his children. An avid baseball fan, Ralph suffered with the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Mets. He enjoyed a good poker game, and he saw the humorous side of everything. Most importantly, Ralph loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helene; his son Jeff; his daughter Ivy Stern and her husband Phil; his son Frank and his wife, Sara; and four grandchildren, Carly, Jake, Nathan, and Anna Katherine.
The funeral will be held at Hellman Memorial Chapels in Spring Valley. His family will be sitting shiva at the home of Ivy and Phil Stern in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
