Richard David Striano

Richie was born on April 19, 1956, in the Bronx, New York, to Vincent and Louisa Striano. He was a beloved brother to Jerri, Al, Jimmy, and his late sister, Chris. Throughout his life, Richie was defined by his unwavering devotion to his family, his profession, and the countless patients whose lives he touched with his kindness and compassion.

Richie shared an extraordinary love story with his beloved wife, Jani. Married for 43 wonderful years, they built a beautiful life together rooted in unconditional love, laughter, and family. Their bond was one that inspired everyone who knew them, and there was never a doubt how deeply he loved her.

He was a devoted and loving father to his three daughters and their husbands: Gillian and Matt Striano-Kaplan, Hailey and Jon Gribben, and Emma and Steve Striano- DePaola. Richie treasured being a “girl dad” and lovingly referred to the woman in his life as his “four gems,” with Jani always being his first and greatest gem. His family was the center of his world.

Nothing brought Richie greater joy than becoming “Richie Pop” to his beloved grandchildren: Leyla, Ella, Sawyer, Paige, Harrison, and Baby DePaola, who will arrive this fall. His grandchildren adored him, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether he was sneaking them bubbles, surprising them with ice cream cones, or simply making them laugh, he created countless memories that they will carry in their hearts forever.

Beyond his family, Richie devoted his life to caring for others. As a chiropractor for more than two decades, he built a practice grounded in compassion, integrity, and genuine care for every patient who walked through his door. Later in his career, he became a pioneer in regenerative stem cell medicine, publishing research in the field and earning certification in diagnostic ultrasound. Patients traveled from across the country seeking not only his expertise but also his gentle nature, reassuring presence, and heartfelt commitment to helping others heal. To those who knew him, Richie was more than an exceptional physician. He was a truly kind and selfless man who treated everyone with dignity and respect.

Funeral services will be held at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State St, Spring Valley, New York 10977, on July 31, 2026, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Beth El Cemetery, 735 Forest Ave, Paramus, New Jersey 07675

Richie will be remembered for his unwavering love, quiet strength, generous heart, gentle spirit, and infectious sense of humor. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the patients whose lives he changed, and the countless people fortunate enough to know and love him. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the immeasurable love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
