Robert Levin lived a full and wonderful life. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Phyllis and his daughters Debra and husband Rich Lowe and Cindy and husband Rick Williams, and his son, Richard. Robert was born in Flatbush Brooklyn in 1929, attended James Madison High school, graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelors in civil engineering, was a 2nd Class Petty Officer in the US Navy during the Korean War where he worked on projects in Cuba and Morocco. As a professional engineer Robert worked for New York State, Office of General Services (OGS), Design and Construction Group for 59 years (yes, 59 years!!!) where he spearheaded the building and repairing of numerous projects including parks, prisons, schools, hospitals. Among his favorite projects was the building and completion of Riverbank State Park located in Manhattan at 145th St. and the Hudson River which sits on top of the North River Wastewater Treatment Plant. Fixing problems was a favorite part of Robert’s job. Robert had an AMAZING work ethic and was an astounding role model and mentor for many at OGS which instilled his very strong work ethic in many. He will be truly missed by his family and former colleagues.
