Dear Meghan and Family, 
I was extremely saddened to hear of Dr. Zaklin's passing today. I have been a patient of ECS Wellness since January 2023.  Meghan, you have been instrumental in assisting me with your expertise, which has made a difference in the quality of my life. I feel lucky that I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Zaklin on one of my virtual visits. His work is invaluable to people in need of a solution.  Sincere condolences on your loss.

Thank you Dr. Zaklin for your contributions to the healthcare of many, many people including my own. You will be sorely missed.

I am thinking of you all and want you to know how very special Dr. Z was to me.  I found him to be the best medicine for me with just my hour I got to spend with him every few weeks.  He was the most amazing therapist I ever saw.
He will be sorely missed and loved by all that knew him I am sure.

Ryan was my classmate in medical school. We were not incredibly close, but I sang in the Spinal Chords under his leadership, and shared a couple vivid moments with him: walking through an orchard, he eloquently explained homeopathy and how it is based on diluting something infinitely until it creates a space that can heal. Also a night jamming on his bongos with our friend Scott, he cooked us the most amazing sweet potato fries. He was fasting on only water, honey and lemon at this time and couldn't eat any of them.  He truly was a light, a sun, that burned so brightly and warmly that it could not last anymore. With love, Garrett

Hi I’m Dennis Shafer, Ryan Zaklin’s saxophone teacher, friend, and musician collaborator in Salem, MA. We were working together on producing his music in the past few months. I have contributed to his memorial fund above. I am also dedicating this concert to him:

I’ll always remember your sense of humor and quick wit along side your insightfulness.  Your personality was truly such a tour de force.  You were a great classmate and awesome bandmate.

Ryan and I met as internal medicine residents at Mass General Hospital. I think it’s safe to say that, at times, we both felt in over our heads—and found real comfort in sharing our hopes, fears, and insecurities. Ryan was a brilliant person and a wonderful, deeply caring physician. He was open, honest, and an unwaveringly supportive friend.

I’ll always remember the time we ran one of the inpatient teams together as junior residents, managing the trials and tribulations of the service side by side. Ryan led with humor, humility, and heart.

Later, when I picked up the electric bass, I came to know another side of Ryan—as an extraordinary musician. Playing with him was unlike any experience I’d ever had; his talent and creativity were a gift I’ll remember forever.

I’ll miss the heartfelt talks, the long jams, and his kind, generous, and creative spirit. Love and miss you, Ryan.

You were a light to me and so many others, Ryan. And that light, your legacy, is going to shine brightly, rippling toward eternity. Count on it. I miss you and will always love you.

I am so sorry for Ryan’s loss. I wish his family peace. I am so shocked by his passing.

Ryan was so memorable. He left a mark on the world. Everyone who met him would smile more, laugh more, and enjoy life more. I still remember his questions prior to starting his internship. I knew he was special. He has everything from what to wear to how to work effectively to the culture of his residency. I can recall Dave Barbie and I talking to him many times to prepare for his coming to MGH.  He thrived and made this experience his own. He taught us all how to enjoy life, listen to the music, and find our own path.

The world is somewhat different now without Ryan in it. I believe his spirit and his memories will fill the void of missing him tangently. He will live in my heart as well as many others.

Peace to all who loved him. I believe he is dancing and groovingin heaven.

I was just thinking about Ryan a few weeks ago. When my father passed away unexpectedly during medical school, he was incredibly compassionate and kind to me. We went on walks together and talked about yoga and he made me truly feel seen. He went out of his way to check on me and listening to me.  Even though we haven't been close for many years. I am devastated by this news. He was such a compassionate and caring person.

My deepest condolences to Ryan’s family. From our time together at UVA I remember his amazing intellect, infectious positivity and warm smile. Sending love to all who are grieving this incredible man.

I remember Ryan so well from our time at UVA SOM. He was full of life and so very kind.  Praying for all those whose lives you have touched.  What a beautiful life you lived, my friend.

I first met Ryan about 15 years ago when we were both residents at MGH (emergency medicine for me, medicine for him). Later we worked together at Salem Hospital while he was there as a hospitalist. I always enjoyed working with Ryan - he was a caring and thoughtful physician, but also a funny and engaging colleague. I extend my deepest condolences to his family and friends. His loss is felt by many.

I worked with Ryan during our Residency at MGH. He was the most creative and artistic person I had ever met. He had the most dynamic smile, and it would shine brightest when he thought of an incredible joke or was playing the guitar. I already miss his beautiful spirit but know his kind soul is at peace. All my love to everyone he has touched in his short time with us.

He will be missed by all who had the honor to know him. May his memory be for a blessing.
