Wilma Frank, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Wilma was a lifelong educator. A speech pathologist by training, she taught public speaking at Rockland Community College for over 50 years, where she mentored thousands of students until her retirement in 2019.
Wilma is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Richard Frank. They met at summer camp when Wilma was 15 years old, and they were inseparable from that time until his passing last April.
Wilma loved the Sunday crossword, Broadway musicals, and summers in Maine. Most of all, she cherished her family. That was never more clear than at Thanksgiving, which she hosted each year. Wilma's family will miss those gatherings, and her, dearly.
Wilma is survived by her children Allison and Bob (Raffaella); her grandchildren Madeline (Alex), Gregory, Gabriel, and Dani; and her great-grandchildren Riley and Austin.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19, 2025, 11:00 AM at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Interment will follow at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704.
Memorial contributions may be made in Wilma's memory to Trustees of Columbia University in Honor of Wilma Frank for Research & Educational Activities (Memo: For Use in Division of Cardiology). Checks should be sent to: Allan Schwartz, MD, 173 Fort Washington Avenue, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10032
