

Barbara “Barb” Weadick passed away on May 16th, 2024 at her home in Springboro, Ohio. Barb is survived by sons Mark (Lisa) Weadick, Andy (Shari) Weadick, and Patrick Weadick; grandchildren Ben (Sarah) Smith, Jake (Stacey) Smith, Hannah Weadick, Will Weadick, Paul Weadick, Brenna (Evan) Hepp, Michael Weadick, Nicholas Weadick; great grandchildren Isaac Smith, Juniper Smith, and Wesley Smith; and sister Elizabeth (Don) Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Hazel Hamm and brother Stephen Hamm.
Barb was born on May 23rd, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio to Joe and Hazel Hamm of Eaton. She was raised by her parents and was actively involved as an Eaton Eagles cheerleader and majorette. Following high school graduation in 1959, Barb became a mother and homemaker for several years, raising her three sons, Mark, Andy, and Patrick. When Patrick started elementary school, Barb enrolled at Miami University and took classes in the evenings, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Education and Library Science. She then started her career as the middle school librarian at Valley View Local Schools, a post she held for 35 years until retirement in 2009. In the course of her career, she also earned a Master’s degree from Miami. Barb’s job in the library was a perfect fit for her love for books, and she had many beloved friends at Valley View Middle School.
Barb had numerous hobbies and passions including antiques, primarily furniture and Halloween and Christmas collections. She kept an active social life, getting together with friends for lunch and other outings. She also loved to travel including favorite trips to Europe and Hawaii. In retirement, she enjoyed spending the winter months in Bonita Springs Florida at her “Casita Bonita.” Barb had a vivacious personality and love for life. She always maintained an upbeat outlook and sense of humor.
Barb will be most remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was fiercely loyal and generous to family and friends and will be greatly missed by many.
