

Charles Juel Rodgers age 87 of Lebanon, Ohio, died on Sunday morning, September 27, 2020. Charles, the son of Oris J. and Theldia A. (Henderson) Rodgers and brother of Larry F. Rodgers, was born in Vincennes, Indiana on October 5, 1932. At the age of four, he moved to Detroit, MI. After graduating from Lincoln Park High School, he served in the US Air Force with the 736th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron, as a Radar Operator, in French Morocco. Following his USAF service, he graduated from Eastern Michigan University and worked for Ford Motor Company for 36 years as an Electrical and Vacuum Systems Engineer focusing on F-150 trucks and Econoline Assembly Production. Charlie spent his retirement years with his wife Betsy, enjoying their family, in Ann Arbor, MI, then settled in Lebanon, OH.
Charles was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann (Nemeth) on January 30, 1960 in Allen Park, Michigan and she survives. They have been married for 60 years. Together they have four children, two daughters and two sons. He was ´Papa Charlie´ to seven granddaughters, eight grandsons, three great-granddaughters, four great-grandsons and a fifth great-grandson due in November. Charlie´s family has been his greatest joy! He also found a special companionship in the many dogs he had through the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at Martenson Family of Funeral Homes 10915 Allen Rd. Allen Park, MI with Celebrant Fred Cislo officiating followed by military honors. Visitation will be from 10am to 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown, MI.
