

Born on February 11, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio. Don was retired from NCR and GM (Inland Manufacturers Division) respectively, and member of local Unions 1616 and 696. Owner and operator of Springboro Lawnmower, Thompson Tax and Notary; He was known by the community as an honest businessman, whose word was reliable and whose handshake was trustworthy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 68 years, Julia Deanna (Christie), and their five children: Lisa (Kevin) Elcook of Wilmington, OH, Loreen Thompson of Springboro, OH, Luanne (Carlin) DuVall, of Franklin, OH, Leslie J. Thompson (Joseph Tremmel) of Springboro, OH and Lawrence (Virginia) Thompson of Franklin, OH. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, all of which brought him immense joy.
Don will be remembered as a man dedicated to his family and whose life is marked by hard work. He didn't just speak of values--he lived them. He was a man who led with quiet strength and unwavering example, leaving behind a legacy that continues to guide and inspire. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Anderson Funeral Home- Springboro Chapel, 40 North Main Street in Springboro, Ohio. Interment will follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville, Ohio. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Don to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2748 Pennyroyal Road, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342.
