Eugene was born on May 9, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Anthony and Mary Florio.
Known affectionately as “Dude,” Eugene was a sweet, generous, and loving man who had a way of making those around him feel loved and cared for. He had a special place in his heart for babies and children and always enjoyed being around them. His family was the center of his world, and the memories he created with those he loved will be treasured forever.
Eugene proudly served his country in the United States Army for 36 years, serving in the medical unit and retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. His dedication, service, and commitment were an important part of his life and something his family was incredibly proud of.
Outside of his military career, Eugene enjoyed woodworking. He loved working with his hands and creating things, leaving behind not only pieces of his craftsmanship but also the memories of the time and care he put into everything he did.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Lucy; his son, Chris Florio (Cindy); and his beloved grandchildren, Jacob and Isaac Florio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Mary Florio, and his siblings, Carmen Florio, Virginia Bauer, and Al Florio.
Eugene will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, generosity, love for his family, and his gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
