April 1, 1956 – May 17, 2025
Jackie Whitney, a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at the age of 69. Her life was a vibrant reflection of compassion, positivity, and wholehearted living.
Jackie had a deep love for gardening, believing that tending to plants was not only a joy but a way to nurture the soul. She often said, “Health is wealth,” a philosophy she lived by every day. A passionate advocate for natural remedies and healthy living, Jackie embraced a holistic lifestyle long before it was popular, and it served her well throughout her life.
She dedicated herself to the care of others — not only her family but her broader community. Jackie was an active and supportive presence in her son’s scouting and school years, always offering her time and encouragement. She believed in the power of positive thinking and radiated a gentle optimism that uplifted everyone around her.
Above all, her greatest happiness came from being with her grandchildren, CJ and Alexandra, whom she loved deeply with all her heart.
Jackie Whitney will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her unwavering belief in the goodness of life, and her enduring commitment to the well-being of others. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the wisdom she shared, and the love she gave so freely.
Jackie, wife of the late Carl Whitney who passed in 1998, is survived by her partner, Guy Pasvogel, with whom she shared a loving companionship for over 25 years; her son, Heath (Nicole) Whitney, her grandchildren, CJ and Alexandra Whitney; her brother, Daniel (Lori) Schmidt; her nephews, Jason and Jarrod Schmidt, Brent Young; and her niece, Jayme Webb. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her. She also was preceded in death by her parents, Linus and Erika (Sesar) Schmidt and her brother Tom Schmidt in 2012.
The family invites all to join them in a celebration of her life on Saturday, June 21, from 2-5pm, at Anderson Family Life Celebration Center, 360 Commerce Center Dr, Franklin, OH 45005.
Donations can be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton (324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420, https://www.ohioshospice.org/dayton/), or consider planting a tree in her memory (https://lp.thegiftedtree.com).
