John was a natural born athlete. He was a Golden Glove Boxer and earned a football scholarship to Marshall University in the early 1950's where he met his wife of 70 years, Lucille. His passion for physical fitness was evident throughout his life. John enjoyed riding his bike, swimming, and nature trail hikes, where he had an uncanny squirrel call.
John Will be remembered by his grandchildren as an ever present force in their lives creating many cherished memories that reflect the joy, patience and playful spirit he carried throughout his life.
John is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille: parents George Rencic and Ivanka Strohan Rencic: brothers Vjeko, August, Tony and Joe.
John was so loved by his surviving family, Son Peter Rincich, Daughter, Kristi (Randy) Rock: Grandchildren Emily (Robert) Cottingim and John Rock: Great-Grandaughter Eleanor Cottingim.
"John had a long battle with dementia and was definitely... the long goodbye."
