She was born Marsha Suzanne Fuhr on September 13, 1944, in Mason City, Iowa, the eldest daughter of Walter E. Fuhr and Miriam J. (Baughman) Fuhr.
Sue graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois, and from the University of Illinois School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at a time when that was uncommon for RNs. She lived a lifetime of helping others—through nursing and in countless other ways—and was a friend and helper to more people than can be named.
Sue was also a gifted and enthusiastic creator. She excelled in sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cross stitch, making beautiful items for herself, her family, and her friends. She loved sharing her skills and teaching others the crafts she enjoyed so much.
She is survived by her husband, John Stoy, their daughter, Lesley (Case) Garrison; her stepson, Jeffrey (Lisa) Stoy; grandson Emmett Garrison; granddaughter Everly Garrison; step grandson Anders Stoy; and siblings Joanne (Ronald) Nead, Richard (Elise) Fuhr, Tiffany Roarty, and Michael (Lezlie) Fuhr. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and by step grandson Samuel Stoy.
Sue lived a lifetime of making new friends while keeping the old ones close. One high school classmate recently called her a “wonderful friend,” and another friend said Sue was like “the sister she never had.”
She will be remembered with love as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
There will be no formal funeral. Instead, there will be a “gathering” of family and friends on Sat, July 11, 2026, from 11am to 2pm at the Anderson Funeral Home of Springboro, OH https://www.dignitymemorial.com › funeral-homes › ohio › sp ). Refreshments will be served.
