Alaina was born in Springfield, July 10, 2008, the daughter of Jeffrey and Ashley (Bruce) Daberkow. She was named after her maternal great-grandmother.
She was a member of the junior class at Springfield Southeast High School. Alaina focused her studies with the Health and Science Academy at Southeast. She worked hard, put in the time, and it showed in her grades. It meant the world to her when someone noticed and complemented her on her progress. She was a former track athlete, running the 200, 400 and relays. She was a longtime family member of MindBody Martial Arts. Her most recent achievement earning the rank Shodan Ho, which is considered probationary Black Belt. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. In her free time, Alaina enjoyed watching Friends, Harry Potter and drawing. Her favorites were displayed on her wall. Alaina loved hanging out with her friends, driving and was always listening to music. She wrote in her journal, “driving for miles cleans the soul”.
Surviving are her parents, her brother, Logan, grandparents: Teresa Bruce, Joe (Dawn) Bruce, Connie and Gerry Daberkow, her two aunts; Jennifer (Brandon) Blakley and Tiffany Bruce, several cousins and a host of friends.
Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 3:00-6:00 pm at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield, IL. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 2645 Old Jacksonville Rd. Springfield, IL. Pastors Joshua T. Traxel and Joel Springer will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Springfield, IL
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Springfield Southeast High School Health and Science Academy or the Track and Field Team at Springfield Southeast High School, or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and School.
