

Alan R. Weymouth, 60, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at his home. Alan was born on June 26, 1948 in Springfield, the son of Marshall Daniel and Eleanor Ryan Weymouth. He married Peggi Lynne Park on March 8, 1980 in Valencia, PA. Alan graduated from Griffin High School. During his high school years, he was the drummer in the band "Shy Guys." He then earned a degree in Advertising from SIU in Carbondale. In 1982 he opened The Landscape Centre, later known as Flora Scape, which he operated for nine years. In addition to working with plants, Alan enjoyed golfing, attending horse shows, NASCAR racing, and he never missed a State Fair. Preceding Alan in death are his parents. He is survived by his wife, Peggi Weymouth of Springfield; his siblings, John, Nancy, and Robert Weymouth, all of Chicago; in addition to two nieces and two nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield, with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
