Alice was the daughter of Harry DeFrates and Maud Sanders DeFrates. She graduated from Brown’s Business College in Springfield, Illinois. She was a resident of Elgin, Illinois for more than 50 years, where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was employed by the accounting firm of Mueller and Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jean DeFrates Huson.
She is survived by a son, Brian Robert Bruce; daughter-in-law, Susan Bruce; and grandchildren, Brian Bruce Jr and Jacqueline Bruce.
Private memorial services will be held in Springfield, Illinois.
