Alice was born on December 2, 1928, in Springfield, the daughter of Ullyse and Julie Limlette Godart. She married Lyle Eugene Fritsch in October, 1949; he preceded her in death on June 30, 1995.
Alice was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Springfield. She loved interior decorating, especially for the holidays. Alice loved plants, flowers, antiques, and exploring places with Lyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Stephanie Fritsch; one sister, Marie Kuly; and brothers, Edward and Mitchell Godart.
She is survived by her son, Mark (wife, Michelle) Fritsch of Springfield; daughter, Julie Fritsch-Hughes of Pleasant Plains; three grandchildren, Quentin Hughes III, David and Joshua Fritsch; and one great-grandchild, Lily Rae Fritsch.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, with Pastor Linda Strader officiating at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2477 West Washington St., Springfield, IL 62702. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
