

She was born on December 20, 1934 in Gladwin, MI, the daughter of the late Henry F. and Hedwig (Urziki) Knake. She married Paul Hoffman on June 2, 1956 and he preceded her in death on January 13, 1995. She later married Marlyn Leezer on September 18, 2009 and he survives.
Alice had worked as a nursing instructor for the Capital Area School of Practical Nursing in Springfield and had previously taught nursing at Scott Community College in Davenport, IA. She had been a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Chatham, IL and more recently had attended at Little Flower Catholic Church in Springfield.
Besides her husband Marlyn Leezer, she is survived by her 3 children, David (wife Joyce) Hoffman of Chatham, IL, Sandra (husband Dean) Schnack of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Sharon (husband Alan) Moulds of Bad Axe, MI; 5 grandchildren, Rachael Hoffman, Andi (husband Alan) Sykes, Benjamin Schnack, Andrew (fiancé Mary Thomas) Moulds, and Ryan (fiancé Naomi Garcia) Moulds; 2 great-grandchildren, Rylan Sykes and Kyler Sykes;her sister Henrietta Spears; and her brother Henry Knake.
Besides her parents and her first husband Paul Hoffman, she was preceded in death by her sister Betty Wolf.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Private family services will be held.
