Alice will be remembered for her strength, compassion, quick wit, and lifelong dedication to caring for others. A graduate of Lanphier High School, she devoted much of her life to nursing, working at Memorial Medical Center and Alterna-Care as a psychiatric nurse. Alice cared for her patients with kindness while bringing warmth and laughter to every room she entered. She was equally valued by the nurses and colleagues who had the opportunity to work and learn alongside her.
A lifelong animal lover, Alice had a special place in her heart for animals in need and welcomed many into her home over the years. It is impossible to put into words the impact she had on those around her, but the many lives she touched, both human and animal, were better for having known her. She will be deeply missed.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn (Booker) and Harold Janssen; and sister, Joanne Sims.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Peek of Springfield; son, Charles (Gale) Peek of Sherman, four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and beloved pets.
Services will be private.
