

Alinda Ann Schuerman, 79, of Springfield, died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Home. Alinda was born May 7, 1923 in Springfield the daughter of William J. and Zelma Smith Franz. She was married by her uncle, Bishop John B. Franz to George Schuerman, September 18, 1944 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Mrs. Schuerman was a graduate of Lanphier High School and attended Illinois State University. She was employed by St. John’s Hospital as Admitting Reservationist for 12 years retiring in 1987. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Altar and Rosary Society, Phi Beta Psi Sorority and St. John’s Retirees. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband George of Springfield; three sons: William J. (wife, DiAnne) Schuerman of Plainfield, IL, Dr. Theodore J. (wife, Debbie) Schuerman of Chesterfield, MO, James F. (wife, Sherry) Schuerman of Chicago, one daughter: Mariann (husband, Greg) Vanwinkle of Brookfield, WI; twelve grandchildren and one great grandson. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2003. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday April 5, 2003, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. David Hoefler celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield, IL 62704.
