Alma Dean Cartwright, 74, of Springfield, died at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at St. John’s Hospital. Alma was born October 8, 1928 in Franklin, Illinois. The daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Buchanan. She married William Cartwright in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 1964. Alma was licensed in the childcare industry. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Joseph Feagans. She is survived by three sons: Oscar, Ben and John Cartwright all of Springfield; one daughter: Helen (husband, Silvey Smith) Feagans of Springfield; nine grandchildren; fifty-two great grandchildren; one sister: Goldie Mae VanBebber of Jacksonville and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2003. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2003 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
