

Alma Jean Kirn, 64 of Springfield Il, passed away peacefully at 8:30 AM on Friday February 10, 2012 at her home surrounded by family.Alma Kirn was born November 15, 1947 in Perryville, Missouri. She was the beloved daughter of Edwin B. Kirn and Mary LaVerne Grass Kirn.
She leaves behind her husband Grover Webb, Jr, their three children, Blake Edwin of Collinsville, Grant Lewis of Tampa, Florida and Laura Renee and one granddaughter Audrina Dione Williams, both of Collinsville, two sisters Nina Rivera (Carlos) of Long Beach California, Linda Brewer (Wayne) of St. Charles, Missouri, and Nelson Kirn (Cordell) of Perryville Missouri.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and her one sister Margie Faye Kirn and brother Phillip Allen Kirn.
Alma received her Bachelors and Masters from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where she met her husband, thus starting a legacy of Salukis pride continued by their three children--all proud graduates.
She will forever be remembered for her candor, warmth in friendship and laughter, country music and love of flowers--especially her spring tulips. Always an avid reader of non-fiction she started a children's library for her granddaughter.
A great champion for women's issues, she was a lifetime member of the National Organization for Women and a staunch supporter of the Equal Rights Amendment.
A Memorial for Alma Kirn will be held at Bisch Funeral Home West, on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
