Andrea "Andie" Cason

Andrea "Andie" Cason, 33, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. Andie was born January 8, 1980 in Springfield, the daughter of Michael Cason and Sharon Thompson Phifer. Andie was a 1998 graduate of Lanphier High School and went on to attend Springfield College. She worked in the library at SIU School of Medicine. She recently learned and was preparing to further her studies in American Sign Language at MacMurray College. She enjoyed spending time with family, learning, reading, and the arts. Andie also enjoyed shopping and was a true fashionista. She was preceded in death by her father and grandmother, Rose Cason. She is survived by her mother, Sharon (husband, Bruce) Phifer; siblings, Joelle (husband, Norman) Dixon, Dustin and Carey Cason, and Jason Bardwell; grandparents, Murray and Betty Thompson; aunts, Deborah Batiste, Patricia Stinson and Arletta Bannas; and several nieces, a nephew and a host of cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial ceremony at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
