

Andrew Bourgasser, 88, of Lincoln, passed away at 1:00 a.m. Monday, December 02, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, IL. Andrew was born February 20, 1914 the son of Paul and Isabelle Cousin Bourgasser in Assumption, IL. He married Irene Favero May 17, 1936 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Andrew was employed as chief engineer for 25 years at Town House Apartments when they were owned by Franklin Life Insurance Company. He was a member of Blue Ridge Club in Springfield and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1015 in Pana. He was a University of Illinois and a St. Louis Cardinal Fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening and watching sports, especially basketball. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Fred Bourgasser and two sisters, Isabelle Bourgasser and Clarice Bressan. He is survived by his wife: Irene of Lincoln; one son: Dr. Gene (wife, Jane) Bourgasser M.D. of Sullivan, IN; two daughters: Annette (husband, John) Boxman of Springfield, Marilyn (husband, Ron) Woerly of Lincoln; one sister: Lucille Duley of Springfield; six grandchildren: Jill (husband, Chris) Reichert of Springfield, Glen Woerly of Lincoln, Sean, Jeff and Chase Bourgasser of Sullivan, IN, Walker (wife, Shannon) Boxman of Springfield; five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2002. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
