
Anita K. “Mickey” Woody, 84, of Springfield, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at her home. Mickey was born September 4, 1919 in Chicago the daughter of Henry and Alice Petersen Kort. She married Howard Glenn Woody, M.D. June 26, 1939 in Chicago; he preceded her in death. Mrs. Woody was a longtime teacher at Springfield Ceramic and Crafts. She was also a member of King’s Daughters Carrie Post Circle, Sangamon County Medical Auxiliary, past Girl Scout Leader and she was involved in various charitable organizations in Sangamon County. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother: Ralph Kort and two sisters: Lorraine Kort and Alice Childs. She is survived by three sons: Bruce (wife, Jeanne) Woody of Brandon, FL; Peter Woody of Springfield; John Woody of Elgin, TX; three daughters: Debbie (husband, Ted) Megginson of Auburn; Beth (husband, Mike) Neighbors of Springfield; Sara (husband, Randy) White of Bloomington; nineteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother: Kenneth (wife, Muriel) Kort of Palatine and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2003. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2003 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. J.L. Penfold officiating.
