

Ann was born on March 28, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Theodel A. and Gertrude E. (Flaherty) Lefebure. She married Farrell Gay in 1955.
Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family, always putting God and family first. Ann was active in various organizations including Junior League of Springfield, Island Bay Yacht Club, Illini Country Club, the Farrell and Ann Gay Museum of Springfield History, Progress Circle, and the Imperial Country Club of Naples, FL. Ann was also a teacher at the Little Red Schoolhouse for 5 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, M. Maxine Teahen; and her brother, John R. Lefebure.
She is survived by her loving husband of more than 65 years, Farrell C. Gay of Springfield; two sons, Cole (wife, Sharon ) Gay and Todd (wife, Suzi) Gay, both of Springfield; four grandchildren, Zoey Gay of Denver, CO, Olivia (husband, Zach) Warman of Glen Ellyn, IL, Melissa (husband, TJ) Van Hiel of Winfield, IL, and Jett Gay of Fort Myers, FL; three great-grandchildren, Owen and Ivy Warman, and Everett Van Hiel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield, with the Very Rev. Christopher House, celebrant. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
