Ann Therese Witsman

Ann Therese Witsman, 58, of Springfield, died at 12:37 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Heritage Health surrounded by her family and friends. Ann was born March 12, 1959 in Taylorville, the daughter of Stuart and Alacoque Traynor. Her passions were cooking, supporting her boys in their sporting and school activities, and spending time with her family and friends and two loved golden retrievers. Ann most enjoyed raising her sons and watching them grow into the men that they are today. She was an avid Notre Dame and Dayton University fan. She was a proud member of Blessed Sacrament Parish. Ann was always there for any one at any time, willing to help whomever she could. Her zest for life and her smile were always contagious. Ann was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her sons, Michael, Matthew, and John "Jack" Witsman, all of Springfield; mother, Alacoque Traynor of Taylorville; siblings, Stuart (wife, Barbara) Traynor of Taylorville, Lance (wife, Sally) Traynor of Taylorville, Patrick (wife, Denise Murphy) Traynor of St. Louis, Mary Jane (husband, Ernie) Dryer of Annapolis, MD, and Mike Traynor of Annapolis, MD; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Wrigley and Rooney. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1725 S. Walnut St., Springfield with Msgr. David J. Hoefler, V.G. and Rev. Jeff Grant, concelebrants. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P.O.
