Anna M. Devine

Anna was born on October 3, 1922 in Wilburton, OK to Cosmo and Angelina (Tesone) Berardo. She married James J. Devine and he preceded her in death in 1994. She was the proud mother of three sons; James P., Patrick G (wife Rita), and Timothy J. Devine. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Angela, Nathan (wife Leigh Anne) David and Sara Devine. Her two daughters, Sharon Anne and an infant daughter preceded her in death. Sharon passed away at age nine from the results of a medical procedure in the early 1950's.

Anna did various jobs in her life including assisting her husband in the insurance business. She also worked a the Sangamo Club but was best known for her widely admired oil paintings. She began this love of art at the Chicago School of Art in the 1940's. A few years ago she had an exhibit of her art at the Town and Country Bank and was recognized by the community as a renowned and well respected artist. She won several awards at the Illinois State Fair through the years for her expertise and work. She loved her pets, expressing that love through her care for them and often capturing their personalities in her paintings.

Honoring Anna's wishes, her services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be directed to Lutheran High School or Trinity Lutheran Church and School, both in Springfield.
