Anna Marie (Pizzuto) Knight

Ann was born on June 30, 1941, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Joseph B. and Anna “Margaret” (Martino) Pizzuto. She married Lawrence L. Schatteman on June 29, 1963. She later married Edward “Jim” Knight on March 20, 1996; he preceded her in death in 2014.

Ann graduated from Alleman Catholic High School in Rock Island, Illinois. Later in life, she graduated from beauty school and received her cosmetology license. She was active in the PTA when her children were young. She enjoyed volunteering, including teaching Sunday School at Christ the King in Moline, IL for seven years.

After spending 70 years in the Quad Cities, Ann relocated to Chatham ten years ago where she became a member of Chatham United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Monday evening prayer group. She loved her cats, enjoyed cooking, and socializing with her family, extended family, church members, and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lawrence Schatteman; and one sister, Frances (Pizzuto) McDonald.

She is survived by her son, Joseph (wife, Tracy) Schatteman of Chatham; her daughter, Marianna (husband, Jason) Urish of Springfield; stepson, Tim Knight of Las Vegas, NV; one stepdaughter, April Knight of Las Vegas, NV; one grandchild, Samuel Schatteman of Chatham; and one niece, Judy (husband, Peter) Busch of Bloomington.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Chatham, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham. An additional visitation will be held from 10:00 until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Chatham United Methodist Church, 104 W. Chestnut St., Chatham.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Chatham United Methodist Church with Rev. Miriam Snider officiating. Burial will be held at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
