

Arlan G. Cloyd, 69, of New Berlin, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Monday, November 26, 2007 at his residence. Arlan was born in Springfield on January 16, 1938 the son of Russell and Dorothy Sheele Cloyd. He married Jerrie Lynn Goings and they later divorced. Arlan graduated from Lanphier High School and enjoyed working in construction and building. He held several jobs in building including Cloyd Builders and then in 1987 he founded the A\C Concrete Company in Springfield. Arlan owned and operated his company until his retirement in 2004. Arlan was an avid motorcyclist, belonging to the American Motorcycle Association, and was one of the original founders of the White City Motorcycle Club. He was preceded in death by his father; brother: Leon Cloyd, and son-in-law: Rick Goff. He is survived by his children: Blake (wife, Brenda) Cloyd of Springfield, Lisa (husband, Terry) Schad of Springfield, Shelly Cloyd of Thayer, and Bret (wife, Carrie) Cloyd of New Berlin. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Cloyd of Springfield; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brother Lonny (wife, Pat) Cloyd of Litchfield and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive visitors from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will follow in Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Loami.
