

Arlene F. Gatschenberger, 81, of Sherman, formerly of Pleasant Plains, died at 7:40 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2005 at St. John’s Hospice. Arlene was born April 5, 1924 in Wakefield, NE the daughter of Fred W. and Meta E. Lilje Ruser. She was employed as a freelance beautician. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, U.S. Postal Service Auxiliary and Harvard Park Dad’s Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, great grandson, Austin Green, sister, Adelaide Hugo and son-in-law, William Zake, Jr. She is survived by one son: Chuck (wife, Donnette) Gatschenberger of Lake St. Louis, MO; four daughters: LaJean (husband, Tony) Ligori of Springfield, Joyce Zake of Pahrump, NV, Leann (husband, Tom) Flesch of Chatham, Meta Gatschenberger of Morganton, NC; seventeen grandchildren: Jo Lynn (husband, Randy) Green, Arlene Ann Ligori, Gina Marie Ligori, Tony Joe Ligori, Brian Carl Zake, Tarena Michelle Zake, Erica Ann Zake, Andrea (husband, Bill) Sullivan, Sean (wife, Angie) Flesch, Briana Flesch, Carina Flesch, Amy Lynn Gatschenberger, Darla Joyce Gatschenberger, Megan Marie Gatschenberger, Adam Christopher (wife, Brandi) Clotfelter, Brandy Lynn Clotfelter, and Nikolaus Benjamin Clotfelter-Reil; five great grandchildren: Tristan Green, Preston Green, Kiyah Doveanna Zake, Brody William Sullivan and Mikayla Clotfelter; two sisters: Lois (husband, Dale) Krueger of Winside, NE, Ruth (husband, Pat) Erwin of Wakefield, NE; brother-in-law: Matt Hugo of West Point, NE and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation will be accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center. Family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at with Rev. Michael Strong officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne, NE.
