Arthur L. "Art" Reynolds

Arthur L. "Art" Reynolds, D.D.S., 79, of Springfield, died at 11:55 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. Art was born on February 15, 1934 in Springfield, the son of the late John and Della Tremaine Reynolds. He married Carol Ann McTaggart on July 3, 1974 in Springfield. Art was a graduate of Lanphier High School and received his D.D.S. from the University of Illinois. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Art practiced dentistry for over 49 years. He was a member of several professional dental organizations, including The International College of Dentists and the Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners. Art owned and enjoyed standardbred race horses and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Carol Reynolds of Springfield; three sons, Scott Reynolds of Springfield, Steve (wife, Julie) Reynolds of Naperville, and Shawn (wife, Christine) Reynolds of Rumson, NJ; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Christopher, Nicholas, Quinn, Benton, Matthew, Elise, and Hannah; siblings, Donna (husband, Herb) Rush and Ray (wife, Barb) Reynolds, both of Springfield; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Celebration of Life Reception: The family would like to invite friends and family to a reception to celebrate Art's life from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, 2941 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield. Graveside Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Bob Swickard officiating.
