Arthur L Savoie

Our beloved father, Arthur Leonard Savoie, 90, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Villas of Hollybrook in Springfield. Arthur was born August 7, 1935, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, the son of Mary Wilson Savoie and Leonard Savoie. He married Doris Ann Savoie June 22, 1963, in Bradley, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Arthur graduated from Clifton Central High School in 1953. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1957 with a degree in Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1957 to 1959 in Ft. Eustis, Virginia. He was employed for over 37 years by the State of Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services where he retired in 1997.

He was a member of the St. Agnes Church, where he served in the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Notre Dame Club of Central Illinois as well as the Pasfield Men's Gold Club. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports and spending time with his family.

Arthur leaves behind his children, son Mark (wife, Pamela) Savoie of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Susan (husband, Jon) Cagle of Springfield, IL; grandchildren Michael (wife, Abbie) Cagle and Katie (fiancé, Zac Charlton) Ely; and great-grandchildren GiGi and TJ Ely, Karson and Camden Cagle, and Mylie Charlton.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4:30-6:30 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield, IL. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave, Springfield, IL with Fr. Troy Niemerg, celebrant.

Burial will be held at Assumption Catholic Cemetery on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Ashkum, IL.
