Ayleen M. Frantz

Ayleen M. Frantz, 88, of Springfield, died at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2009 at St. John's Hospice. Ayleen was born April 19, 1921 in Mt. Sterling, the daughter of Walter and Alice Bauch Dobey. Ayleen was retired from District 186 having served on the cafeteria staff. She enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and tending to her yard and garden. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two daughters, Pat McCarthy (fiance, Dennis Poss) and Sherry (husband, David) Lewis all of Springfield; two sons, John (wife, Carolyn) Frantz of Beach Grove, TN and Robert E. Frantz of Springfield; five grandchildren, Kim McCarthy, Kris (husband, Matthew) Maurer, Kevin (wife, Rhonda) McCarthy, Kyle McCarthy and James (wife, Sara) Lewis; and six great-grandchildren, Shad Surgis, Jenna Maurer, Nolan McCarthy, Ainsley McCarthy and Hayden and Sydney Lewis. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral ceremony will follow the visitation at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
