Barb Knight, 63, of Springfield, passed away at 11:17 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at St. John's Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Barb was born December 26, 1948 in Princeton, IN, the daughter of Vernon and Thelma Sons Griffith. She married Dennis C. Knight on November 24, 1966 in Fairfield. Barb retired from Horace Mann in 2006. She enjoyed her grandchildren and her family, as well as gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Tim Knight. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Knight of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Patty Knight of Springfield; grandsons, Mitchell and Trentin Knight, both of Springfield; and two brothers, Terry (wife, Teresa) Griffith of Ellery and Van Griffith of Fairfield. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
