Dennis and Family; and
Bernie and Family; and
Jody and Family,

Susan and I were saddened to very recently learn about Barb's passing. You may recall that Barb and I (along with my siblings, Kitty, Susan and Tom) were childhood friends, neighbors and nearly life-long friends. We grew up together as neighbors on Walnut Street and shared many wonderful memorable experiences as kids and adults.

After all, together we watched the Beatles' first and memorable performance on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. It was memorable for me as I watched Barb and my sisters screaming at the TV screen and debating which Beatle was the best. Barb and our families were friends forever after.

What a coincidence we could not attend each others' weddings. Both weddings occurred simultaneously on May 19, 1979 in different places.

I am truly blessed to have known and shared some of my life experiences with Barb Rubin Afeld. She was a wonderful person.

Please accept our sympathies for your loss.

Dennis, Dylan, Taylor, Robin and June, I am so sorry for your loss. Barb was truly a blessing in this world and we are all richer for knowing her. I don’t think I ever saw her without that fantastic smile and will always remember our laughs together. I regret not being able to express my sympathy to you in person, but please know I am thinking of you all and wishing you peace. I will look up to the sun that Barb loved so well and remember the bright light she was.

Uncle Denny, Dylan. Robin, Taylor and sweet baby June:
I am so sorry for the loss of Aunt Barb! Her smile, sense of humor and contagious personality I will miss so much but most of all I will miss the love she showed for me and my family. Whether it was a month or years from the last time we saw her, she would grab us, hug us and tell us she loved us. I will forever hold memories of her in my heart. We love you all and are praying for peace and God’s grace during this time.

Heartfelt sympathy, caring thoughts, prayers. Barb was a true inspiration. She was filled with zest, personality plus, caring kindness, love, and positivity! She was the sunshine in the lives of others every day. Wishing the family and friends: a song in your hearts; a rainbow after the rain: sunshine after the clouds; cherished memories; peace.
