Bertha Ann "Bertie" Good

Bertie was born September 2, 1947 the daughter of Clarence C. and Bertha L. (Nation) Vonwirt. Her parents and two sisters, Karen Hamrick and Shirley Patheal preceded her in death.

Bertie known by her family and friends, worked for Sunrise Donut Shop for over 34 years and then retired from Panera Bread after serving there for over 20 years.

She married her life partner, William Good in Springfield, September 17, 2022 and he survives. Also surviving are her son, John Esslinger of Springfield, her step-children: Sherry, Billie Jo, Michelle, Adam, Rachel and Angela, her two brothers; Harvey E. “Ernie” (wife Marilyn) Hamrick of Peoria, AZ, and David Hamrick of Springfield. She has several grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen St. Springfield, IL where a visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Thursday, March 23, 2023. Cremation Rites will be accorded following the visitation by the Bisch Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
