

Bertram Bevan Kent, 91, of Springfield, formerly of Evergreen Park, died at 5:05 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2003 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. He was born May 25, 1911, in Chicago, the son of Edwin Robert and Florence Bevan Kent. He married Florence Cramer July 30, 1934 at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church in Chicago, IL; she preceded him in death in 1996. Mr. Kent attended Thornton Junior College and Northwestern University. He was employed as a manager of Standard Oil Gas Station and later by Illinois Bell for 35 years retiring in 1976. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving as an Aerial Photographer from 1930 to 1931. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Illinois Bell Pioneers and Christ the King Catholic Church. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Audrey Angove, Marian Goudinoff and one granddaughter: Jennifer Kent. He is survived by one daughter: Patricia (husband, Thomas) Reynolds of Springfield; one son: Michael (wife, Georgianne) Kent of Indianapolis IN; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Christ the King Catholic Church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2003. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2003 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Reverend Christopher House celebrant. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis Memorial Christian Village Activity Fund 3400 W.
