

In 1941 she became the bride of Charles E. Neubich and there followed a loving marriage of 44 years until his death in 1985. She married Ken F. Blankenship in 1992 and he passed in 2000. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Sarah, the daughter of Phil and Mary Jane Neubich.
Betty is survived by two sons: Charles of Springfield and Philip (Mary Jane) of Spooner, WI., two grandchildren: Kati (Mike) Dreyer and Philip (Andrea) Neubich and five great grandchildren: Zeb Swearingen, Levi and Laci Neubich, and Riley and Jameison Dreyer.
Mrs. Blankenship was a graduate of Springfield High School and Illinois Wesleyan where she majored in music. Later in life she took art classes at Lincoln Land Community College. Betty was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed painting, bridge, flowers, traveling, shopping and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Presbyterian Church, 2211 West Wabash in Springfield or to Lincoln Public Library, 326 South Seventh Street in Springfield. Services entrusted to Bisch and Son Funeral Home.
